My church has been experiencing a revival for the past few nights, and Tuesday night’s speaker was Dino Rizzo. If you’ve ever listened to Dino deliver a message, you know he’s going to bring the truth. This evening, he taught from 1 Kings 20:21-30, focusing on the concept of peaks and valleys. After thoroughly examining the scripture, he shared a profound lesson: our Heavenly Father is the God of all highs and lows. This powerful message serves as a reminder that regardless of our current circumstances, the Heavenly Father remains the same, and we should rejoice in every season of life.
To let you know, Dino’s lesson today is not this devotional. However, his lesson did prompt me to pray about something specific, and this is what the Heavenly Father shared with me. But wait! I’ll be sharing another nugget that Dino dropped that also spurred me to prayer, and the Heavenly Father gave me something else to share. So, come back tomorrow for part 2. Here’s part one: We often ask for things in prayer and wonder how they’re supposed to come. When I was in prayer, the Heavenly Father said to me, “Brick by Brick.” So, I started thinking, “How are houses built?” That’s a question that’s easily answered, part by part, step by step, and brick by brick. Lord Jesus tells us exactly why houses are built this way:
Luke 6:48-49 (NIV) 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”
So, I’ll ask this: how do you envision your house? Do you desire it to be built on a solid foundation or without one? The Heavenly Father, a master builder, possesses the knowledge of what to provide and when. Therefore, if the Heavenly Father is responding to your prayers incrementally, step by step, and brick by brick, consider it all a source of joy. When you ask the Heavenly Father and anticipate receiving everything at once, who is the foolish one? Remember, Dino taught that the Heavenly Father is the God of both peaks and valleys. If you ever asked a homebuilder about any setbacks they’ve encountered while constructing a home, I can assure you that they’ll tell you that setbacks began even before they had the plans.
We have a master builder, and when we seek the Heavenly Father’s help, we should trust in the plans. The plans may not always appear or feel the easy way we want, but we should know that the Heavenly Father is at work. By following the plan of the Heavenly Father, our requests can withstand any storm because they are well-built. Don’t be like the foolish builder who disregards the instructions and watches as their house collapses.
Next step:
What steps are you taking to ensure your life is built on the solid foundation of God’s word? Think about how you can actively apply HIS teachings in your daily choices and relationships to strengthen your life.
God bless you, God keep you. God loves you and I love you too!
